Interactive Map
Another key element in the technical framework is the map application. The same benefits apply to this application, the speed of production and ease of updating and maintenance of information.
The interactive map solution gives an overview of geographical data, linked to events, places and historical characters. It can used to promote places and give the user directions and other useful information.
The map solution can contain text, images and narration, and links to video and panoramic images (QuickTime VR). It is possible to zoom in and out, pan and choose items from either a list or the map itself for further information.
Reykjavik City is using our interactive map solution for service information on www.reykjavik.is, and Reykjavik Complete is using it for tourists on their web, www.visitreykjavik.is. The phone directory JÁ is using the solution on www.ja.is. The National Parks in Iceland and The National Centre for Educational Materials are also using it. The interactive map solution is used as well in offline multimedia presentations in museums.
